our mission

"We are changing the narrative of parental leave - because we believe in the power of parenting."

MyCollective translates parenting skills into leadership skills, changing the value of this time for mothers, fathers and companies looking to sustainably diversify their leadership.

The „Community Program" connects ALL parental leavers - no matter the gender or hierarchy - across the industry via our App. Through online trainings and events, supported by elearnings, the participants are empowered, inspired and prepared for their return to the company. Additionally, companies can opt to create company internal groups to directly stay in touch with their talents.

Some selected top talents can also be nominated for participation in the "Leadership Program". Here, they are individually accompanied, as well as intensively coached during their parental leave. Furthermore, they are strengthened, trained and inspired in a group of peers in order to subsequently return to their career path as role models in the company.

This way, the narrative of parental leave can be transformed from a "career bump" to a "career booster" and cultural change can be initiated in your company. We call this #Talent Sustainability

our story

I have a vision:

I am sure that as part of this change, at some point employers will also ask a 35-year-old man with a wedding ring on his finger in a job interview whether he will soon be taking parental leave."

Hi, I am Ricarda, founder of MyCollective. I set up the business during my own parental leave with our third child. The first two kids were born in India, where I lived and worked for seven years with my family, setting up a an institution for responsible business for GIZ.

Number 3 came along when we were back in Germany and I was back in a corporate setting, the corporate strategy of Siemens in Munich.

It seemed to be common practice to take a year's parental leave.

I simply copied my colleagues and took parental leave.

One morning, when walking with my baby and a coffee to go through the streets of Munich, I was amazed how much human capital there is walking through this city at 10am! Most parents (including me) love the time with their children, but are intellectually completely underchallenged.

If you now add the business perspective to that - companies are loosing their talents during the family creation time and face increasing pressure to have more diverse tams, also in the management levels.

There we go.

This is where the idea of MyCollective was born.

We are aiming for:

  • more gender equality through our programme

  • amplifying the impact of social businesses through impulse sessions & exchange

  • bringing a new generation of leaders into our industries whose core values include diversity and sustainability

impact
is our core!

We also believe in a sustainable future.

There is a lot to do - so let's start with what we can do

for a better world and a better society.

That's why we oriented our business towards the Sustainability Goals.
